Before joining Vodafone, David Wheldon held senior positions on both sides of the marketing fence. Starting at Saatchi & Saatchi as a graduate trainee he rose to be a Group Account Director, and, after a brief tenure as Managing Partner at WCRS, he then went on to be the Managing Director of Lowe Howard-Spink in London.
He was recruited to the role of Global Director and Vice President of Advertising for the Coca-Cola Company. David then returned to the agency world as President of BBDO Europe and joined Tempus as a main board director and CEO of Tempus Partners. When Tempus were purchased by WPP David set up Team Vodafone for WPP. He then joined Vodafone in mid 2004 as Global Director of Brand and Marketing Communications and was promoted to Global Brand Director in 2005. He is also the CEO of VIML (Vodafone Ireland Marketing).
David left Vodafone in April 2010 and is currently consulting for a number of global companies.
