Cannes Lions is dedicated to nurturing the young talent of this industry: the students, young creatives, up-and-coming marketing talent, agency executives and young directors. Through our Young Lions competitions and tailored academies, we aim to inspire, educate and grow the fresh blood that this industry is built on.
At the same time, the Festival recognises that creative growth is a process that never stops. That’s why there is diverse learning on offer to suit every career stage. As well as the huge range of seminars and workshops open to delegates, the Cannes Creative Leaders Programme provides intensive training for those seeking an even more professionally rewarding Cannes Lions experience. The goal is for every delegate to leave Cannes more inspired, more aware and more prepared for new professional challenges.
Please note that the academies and other training opportunities in this section took place at the 2013 Festival. The 2014 academies will be posted later in the year.
Our Young Lions Competitions offer a space for national teams of young creatives from around the world to compete against each other and showcase their creative talent. Winning a Young Lions Competition is a hugely rewarding experience that can change your career forever. You're competing against the most talented creative young professionals from across the world and if you win, you'll get to go on stage at Cannes Lions and pick up a medal in front of the entire international communication industry. You'll also receive free registration and accommodation for the following year's Festival.
Six different Young Lions Competitions are held during the Festival - in Cyber, Film, Media, Print, Design and for Young Marketers - reflecting the range of disciplines in creative communications.
The competitions are open to advertising professionals aged 28 or under (30 or under for the Young Marketers Competition) working in advertising or communications businesses. The participating teams of two people are selected through a pre-selection process in their own country, run by our local Cannes Lions representatives.
If you would like to get involved in the competition, pleasecontact your local Cannes Lions representative as soon as possible, as pre-selections started at the beginning of December 2012. They might run as late as March, depending on your country.
