David Karp speaks about why creativity flourishes on Tumblr, and why Tumblr is so different from other social networks.
In May of 2012, Tumblr launched its first advertising products. Since then a number of brands have effectively used the Tumblr platform to reach an audience that is more engaged and more creative than any other on the internet.
David addresses the vision for advertising on Tumblr, and how brands can effectively advertise on Tumblr in a beautiful and creative way. Some of the brands that Tumblr has worked with so far includes The Coca-Cola Company, Calvin Klein, Samsung, Ralph Lauren, adidas and many more.
David is not only working on creating the ultimate platform for expression; 2012 also saw Tumblr’s first non platform iOS App called Photoset (a beautiful way to share a series of photographs with friends). He addresses the founding principles of Tumblr, trends in the industry, what he thinks of mobile, and the difference between working in New York City and Silicon Valley.
