True Inspiration From The World's Creative Elite

SEMINARS

The backbone of the learning programme at Cannes Lions is the seminars. Each year, these feature more than 50 keynote presentations from a wide range of global leaders. The aim of this programme is to inspire through new ideas and concepts. Our speakers range from thought-leaders, to clients, to industry gurus, to non-advertising creative stars such as directors, musicians and architects.

WORKSHOPS

Our workshop programme is made up of more than 20 practical, skill-based sessions. The aim of this programme is hands-on learning for everyone who takes part. For each workshop, the majority of the 60-minute session is given over to an interactive exercise that has real take-home value. Typical workshops range from creative leadership, to the art of successful planning, to developing your copy and script skills.

TECHTALK

The creative communications industries increasingly rely on the latest and most innovative new technologies, which is why we launched TechTalk in 2012. Returning again this year, these daily sessions showcase forward-thinking businesses and allow these companies to demonstrate their pioneering work across the digital-marketing value chain.

Technology is influencing the creative process across the entire communications industry. TechTalk sessions in the Young Lions Zone at the Palais des Festivals bring speakers from innovative companies to the Cannes Lions stage in a friendly and open setting.

MASTER CLASSES

Cannes Lions is committed to supporting the next generation of communication and marketing talent. Our dedicated master class programme gives young creatives, account executives and marketers their own content stream at the Festival, letting them get up close and personal with some of the biggest industry names to benefit from their experience.

Each year, some of the biggest industry names host these master classes in the Young Lions Zone. In 2012, some of the experts who shared their wisdom included Sir John Hegarty, Jeff Goodby, Tony Granger and Ted Royer.

China Day

The advertising sector is one of the fastest growing industries in China; as evidenced in the last few years, which now sees advertising spend in China ranked at number two in the world at $53 billion.

In the last few years we have also seen China flex its muscles in terms of creativity, winning numerous Lions at Cannes including an Outdoor Lions Grand Prix in 2011 and a Press Lions Grand Prix in 2012.

The potential of the market is huge, and the need to understand the market is significant. Cannes Lions, in association with the China Advertising Association, is bringing China Day to the Festival in 2013, which will see some of China's leading thinkers, thought leaders and experts in creativity, the internet, cultural understanding,  and  marketing together to  present a series of forums on what is really happening in this vast country, with the objective of giving an understanding of how to be part of this exciting opportunity and how to better understand how to engage with the market.

China Day will take place in The Esterel Theatre on Level 5 on Tuesday, 18 June from 09.00 until 14.30. Please check the website for further details.

Delegates have the unique opportunity to witness the shortlisted entrants of the new Innovation Lions category presenting their technology to the jury in Cannes on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June.

SEMINAR SCREENING

We understand that Cannes Lions can get extremely busy for those attending, so we aim to make it as easy as possible for every delegate to experience the whole of the learning programme, at times that suit them.

The Seminar Live Stream means that all delegates can watch the keynote sessions even if the Theatre is full as they are also screened live every day in the Palais.

Missed a session? Watch it again at Seminar Replay. Every day we rescreen the seminars from the previous day, at the same time as they happened originally.
