The Lions provide a benchmark for the global industry, honouring diverse and progressive creative work from all over the world; inspirational work that drives progress through creativity and pushes the industry forward. As businesses invest in new ways of working in order to future-proof their business, this Lion celebrates the creativity that drives businesses forward, and the creative thinking that changes how businesses organise themselves, how people work internally and how customers engage. In close collaboration with the industry, we have updated the Creative Effectiveness Lion for 2021 to ensure that the Award accurately reflects the new language of effectiveness, variety of measurable results and breadth of work driving business impact and commercial success. We have taken principles from the Creative Effectiveness Ladder created by Cannes Lions and WARC to embed the shared language for creative effectiveness measurement, with new categories and a new online written submission process. Cannes Lions has also refreshed the PR Lions to ensure the award accurately represents the current PR industry. Cannes Lions undertook research with PR specialists globally to better understand their unique challenges and perspectives to ensure the PR Lions focus on the areas of creative work that the industry wants to be recognised for today.
