Awards for Good

Cannes Lions recognises and celebrates the use of creativity to positively impact not only businesses and brands, but also the world at large.

Grand Prix for Good Awards

We recognise that it is difficult to judge work created for non-profit organisations and charities against brand-led work for paying clients.

For this reason, we have introduced the Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Good and Lions Health and United Nations Foundation Grand Prix for Good.

For these specialist Awards, work cannot be entered directly but becomes eligible if it is awarded a Gold Lion and is created as a public awareness message or is for a non-profit organisation or charity. Work fitting this criteria is judged again separately as a Grand Prix for Good contender.

Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Good Eligibility
Examples of entries that would be eligible for the Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Good award include work created for clients of the following; charities, funds, foundations, appeals, donations NGOs, not-for-profit unions & associations, state education, not-for-profit art facilities such as libraries and museums, equality & health messages.

If a piece of work wins a Creative Effectiveness Gold in 2017 it will only be eligible for the Grand Prix for Good if it was awarded a Silver, Bronze or just Shortlist in 2016, 2015 or 2014.

Gold winning work from Film Craft and Innovation Lions are not eligible for the Grand Prix for Good award.

Lions Health and United Nations Foundation Grand Prix for Good Eligibility
Gold winning work from Health & Wellness and Pharma Lions are eligible for the Lions Health and United Nations Foundation Grand Prix.

Examples of entries that would be eligible for the Lions Health and United Nations Foundation Grand Prix include work created for clients of the following; charities, funds, foundations, volunteer appeals, blood and organ donation, NGOs, unions, associations, anti-smoking (unbranded), anti-drugs (unbranded), alcohol abuse (unbranded), animal welfare (unbranded), aids awareness, disease awareness, sex health awareness, health and hygiene information, exercise and wellbeing, patient advocacy (not adherence).

Glass: Lion for Change Award

We have a dedicated Award which celebrates culture-shifting creativity. 'Glass: The Lion for Change' is a place to commend ideas intended to change the world that address gender inequality or prejudice.

We donate all entry fees for the Glass Lion to related charities chosen closer to the Festival dates.
