More Space for Sport

at Cannes Lions

Sport and eSport are more important than ever in the creative communications space. They're industries characterised by hyper-engaged audiences and die-hard fan loyalty.

Sport brings us together across cultures and presents a totally unique opportunity for brands to connect with people. There’s a lot that we can learn from its biggest players. In 2019, it’s time to give sport the attention it deserves at the festival.

Introducing the Entertainment Lions for Sport

Over the past couple of years, sport has grown in prominence at the Cannes Lions Awards. More and more work has had sport at its core and has leveraged the power of fan engagement in new and creative ways.

For brands, agencies and media owners in this exciting new era, the dedicated Entertainment Lion for Sport means that breakthrough work will get the consideration it deserves – judged by a cross section of sports and sports marketing specialists

The Entertainment Lions for Sport will reward creativity that taps into fan culture and leverages the power of sports and eSports in connecting people to brands. Just like this work for FIFA by adam&eveDDB which won a Gold Lion in 2018.
