The Young Lions Health Award

Uncovering the world’s most promising creative talent

The Award

The Young Lions Health Award in association with UNICEF is back for 2017, seeking out the next generation of young talent in creative communications. This year’s competitors will once again put their creativity to the test on a brief set by UNICEF, the world’s leading organisation working for children in danger. 

Last year, participants were challenged to create a digital activation, print ad and video to raise awareness among caregivers about the importance of early childhood development, and this year’s challenge will be designed to confront another critical, real-world issue affecting children across the world. 

The talented winner will be invited to attend Lions Health in Cannes, where they will receive their award during the official awards show in front of thousands of experts from across the healthcare communications world.

Professionals working in both advertising agencies or client organisations are invited to take part in this year’s competition. 

Young Lions Health Award

The Brief

This year’s brief is to be confirmed. Check back later for exact details and objectives for this year’s challenge from UNICEF. The final work will be judged by a panel of experts made up of members from UNICEF and a select group of Lions Health jurors.

The Prize

Winners receive a complimentary pass to Lions Health 2017, the global event that invites people from across the world of healthcare, pharma and communications to Cannes for an inspiring programme of talks, awards and exhibitions celebrating life-changing creativity.

Entry Criteria

  • Young professionals working in advertising agencies should be 30 years old and under ((born after 24 June 1986)
  • Young professionals working in client organisations should be 30 years old and under ((born after 24 June 1986)
  • Please note that you will be able to amend your competition entry up until the deadline date. Once the deadline has passed all entries will be locked.
  • All the information needs to be in English
  • Competition entrants must work either as an individual or in teams of two
  • Entrants can only enter once either as a team or individually
  • Students are not allowed to enter the competition.

The competition is not yet open for entries.

The deadline for entries is Monday 11 April.

In order to proceed with the submission of your entry please ensure you have the following information in advance:

  • ID/Passport
  • PDF of entrant(s)
  • Letter of employment
    Signed by your line manager with company header, address and line manager’s contact details (for full-time employment, sent as PDF) OR a reference letter by client with company header, address and contact details (if applicant is a freelancer, sent as pdf). 

Competition entry format requirements 
A presentation film (max. three minutes in length, mp4 or mov) OR up to eight images as one combined file (pdf, PowerPoint, jpeg).

Please ensure you submit all the necessary documents. Failure to do so may result in your entry not being accepted.

Only the winning entrant(s) will be contacted on Friday 8 May 2017. The competition is free to enter.
