Daniel Cherry III oversees all marketing, public relations and social media for both the Overwatch League and Call of Duty World League. Daniel was named to Sports Business Journal’s prestigious 40 Under 40 list, and is part of a growing group of sports executives who have joined Activision Blizzard to blaze new trails in the rapidly expanding world of esports. 

Daniel brings over 20 years of marketing experience to this new role, most recently serving as chief marketing and innovation officer for the three-time Stanley Cup Champion New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center arena, where he oversaw all marketing/sales strategy, branding, and innovation, as well as being a part of the senior leadership team that supported business operations across multiple professional sports and esports teams. Prior to that role, Daniel served as the senior vice president of marketing and vice president of consumer planning & research at DIAGEO N.A.

George Krstic

Director of Story, Story & Franchise Development, Blizzard Entertainment

As Director of Story for Blizzard Entertainment’s Story and Franchise Development division, Emmy, Annie and Saturn Award nominated creator George Krstic helps shepherd the narrative expressions of all of Blizzard’s game IPs including Warcraft and Overwatch. A veteran of both the game and entertainment industries, George has worked on such diverse projects as “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” “League of Legends,” and “Transformers” as well as creating his own television series for Cartoon Network – “Megas XLR”. George is a lead member of the story group responsible for Blizzard’s animated shorts, in-game cinematics, comic books, novels and audio dramas.

SVP & Chief Communications Officer, Activision Blizzard

Kristin Binns is SVP and Chief Communications Officer at Activision Blizzard where she oversees global communications for the company which produces some of the world’s most iconic franchises, including Call of Duty®, World of Warcraft®, Overwatch®, and Candy Crush™. Binns joined Activision Blizzard from Twitter, Inc., where she has served as the Head of Corporate Communications since September, 2016. During her tenure at Twitter, Binns spearheaded a multifaceted communications strategy in support of the company’s turnaround effort that ultimately reignited revenue growth, increased user engagement, and drove GAAP profitability for the first time in Twitter’s history. Prior to joining Twitter, she served as the Vice President of Public Relations at Anthem, Inc., where she guided the company through the implementation of health care reform, among other high profile issues. Binns began her career in political communications on Capitol Hill and held a number of leadership roles at General Electric and NBC Universal.

Prior to joining Activision Blizzard, Ames served as the Director of Product Revenue & Analytics at Snapchat, responsible for teams focused on defining and delivering Snap’s innovative ad experiences to marketers. As Snap’s 60th employee, Brian founded and led numerous consumer and revenue teams spanning product management, growth, analytics, strategy, and operations. Ames previously worked in monetization and mobile business development at Facebook and was a Project Leader at the Boston Consulting Group. Ames holds a BS in Brain and Cognitive Science from MIT and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Johanna Faries serves as Head of Call of Duty Esports for Activision Blizzard, Inc., overseeing league and business operations, product development, and corporate strategy for Call of Duty Esports and strategic leadership for the broader esports landscape globally. 

Faries is a sports industry veteran, who joined the company’s esports leadership team in 2018 after 12 years at the National Football League in NYC. While at the National Football League, Faries held a number of leadership roles across marketing, league initiative strategy, fan and business development, partnerships, and consumer products. During her tenure, she also served in a broad range of diversity, inclusion, and mentorship programs.

Jonathan Stringfield is VP and Global Head of Business Marketing, Measurement and Insights at Activision Blizzard Media. In this role he oversees a global team responsible for crafting legendary marketing experiences, conducting rigorous science to substantiate the unique power of gaming to advertisers, and supplying partner teams with evidence-based insights that drive innovation.

Previously, Jonathan was Director, Marketing Insights and Analytics at Twitter where he was responsible for all measurement and ad effectiveness research for the US advertising business. Prior to that, Jonathan was an early member of Facebook’s measurement solutions research team and led demographic research for Nielsen’s TV and media research services. Jonathan holds a PhD in Sociology, where his NSF-funded research focused on identity and audience conceptions among users of social media technologies.

In her role as Global VP of Product to Activision Blizzard Media, she leads product management and marketing, product data science and UX. She thrives on developing industry-leading products that help companies reach their objectives.

Previously, Melissa was SVP of Product for ADARA, creating Traveler Intelligence products based on the world’s largest travel data co-op. Prior to ADARA, Melissa led key product initiatives at Yahoo! including the advertising incubation team, its suite of display ad products, and local search marketing.  Preceding her work in digital advertising, Melissa defined storage management and enterprise software solutions at established and startup companies.  She holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.
