See It Be It is a tailored Cannes Lions initiative, aiming to improve the ratio of female leaders in agency creative departments by identifying and providing support to aspiring, highly talented female creative directors, by providing them access to great content, industry luminaries, and each other.

It's an experience that raises profiles, expands networks, builds resilience and confidence and accelerates participants down the path to leadership.

What you get

Successful See It Be It applicants will be flown to Cannes and provided with accommodation and a festival delegate pass. They will be immersed in a unique, curated programme of seminars, behind-the-scenes jury room access to learn what goes into stand-out campaigns and meetings with industry leaders, both male and female.

They also have one-to-one mentoring with a host of the most respected industry leaders, guidance and stewardship from a specially selected Ambassador and a range of networking opportunities at their fingertips.

Who is it for?

Successful candidates will be creative women from all walks of life and corners of the globe. We expect to include many creative disciplines, companies, industries and nationalities, however there are no quotas for these criteria as selection is based entirely on suitability.

You should

  • Work in advertising, marketing, filmmaking, innovation, editorial, design, PR or related discipline
  • Be mid to senior level with at least 5 years’ experience but less than 10
  • Be an award-winner in internal, local, regional and/or international competitions

We prioritise candidates who:

  • Are active on social media, a published thought-leader or speaker
  • Are Festival first-timers who haven’t judged or attended Cannes Lions before
  • Are fluent in English, comfortable talking to media and addressing an audience

However we do review each application and occasionally take individual circumstance into consideration

How are participants chosen?

A team including representatives of Cannes Lions and the See It Be It Ambassador will review candidates and create a shortlist for follow-up telephone interviews. Everyone who applies will be notified whether they made the shortlist, but are unfortunately we’re unable to provide individual feedback.

The final women chosen will be those we believe can most benefit from the experience and advocate strongly for industry equality.
