17 - 22 June

The Young Creative Academy offers 30 select places to professional creatives aged 30 years or under. This is an unrivalled opportunity to learn from Lions winners and industry greats in an intimate classroom setting.

As an Academy participant, you will have access to exclusive classroom content, peer-to-peer learning, a visit to the jury room, guided tours of the awards exhibition and exciting guest speakers. This is a unique experience curated by Bob Isherwood, an industry legend with over 40 years of agency expertise and over 8,000 awards to his name.

Since it launched in 2012, over 150 creative stars from companies like JWT, Y&R, Leo Burnett, Pixar, Disney, Al Jazera have taken their seat in the most creative training programme in the industry.

Bob Isherwood

Dean - Bob Isherwood

Australian born Bob Isherwood is the former Worldwide Creative Director of Saatchi & Saatchi.

Bob’s work has been documented in many books and endorsed by the industry’s most prestigious national and international award shows. He won Australia’s first Gold Lion for cinema at the Cannes International Advertising Festival and is one of the few people to have ever won a British Design and Art Direction gold award for advertising. Bob has been elected to the Clio Hall of Fame in the US, and the Writers and Art Directors Hall of Fame in Australia.

Bob has served as President of the Film and Press and Poster juries at the Cannes International Advertising Festival and Dean of the Young Creative Academy since 2012.

Lindsay Lamb

Tutor - Lindsay Lamb

Lindsay started her career in project management at Razorfish in Chicago, but soon realized her passion for creativity. She started working on her portfolio at night and was selected for the first ever Young Lions Creative Academy in 2012. It was this program that gave her a push to go to the creative side.

Since then, Lindsay spent three years at AKQA’s New York office and has more recently made the leap to working with startups in both the Silicon Valley at Draper University as well as in NYC with clients like Google, Lifestream, etc. She is also currently working on an app with a Victoria's Secret model/ app developer, called Emogify.

The students in the Young Creative Academy are just as dynamic as the speakers. Some of the students come from a traditional art director and copywriter background, but many are from a variety of disciplines, including graphic design, PR, creative technologist, or even film.

The academy is not designed to focus on any one skill set, but instead covers subjects designed to help the creative individual at different stages of their career.

The Academy Experience

The Cannes Lions School is a sprawling campus supercharged with infectious creative energy, fuelled by a passion to overcome mediocrity and bustling with the industry's best and brightest.

The School has been designed to harness the unique Festival atmosphere, blending it with additional content just for students that addresses specific business needs, industry challenges and opportunities. Most importantly, learning is focused on imparting tangible skills which can be implemented immediately.
