THE SOOT LIFE EXPECTANCY | THE EXTRA STEP INITIATIVE 2023 X3M IDEAS, LAGOS BRONZE, HEALTH & WELLNESS LIONS
To draw attention to the fact that Rivers State, Nigeria, had become one of the most toxic and soot-infested regions in the country, The Extra Step Initiative created a formula. Combining environmental protection, air quality and average life expectancy data, the work generated a sombre new life expectancy for Rivers State residents. It then encouraged users to send their results to friends, family and the government. The work led to widespread environmental policy change for the region, and a Bronze Lion in Health & Wellness.
