Biography
Josy Paul founded BBDO India in 2008 from the backseat of his car. In 2016, he was named ‘Creative Agency Head of The Year’ by the Indian Advertising Association. Josy is recognized as one of the most influential figures in Indian advertising, according to The Economic Times, and was inducted into Advertising Club Calcutta's ‘Hall of Fame’ in 2020.
He has been awarded ‘Creative Person of the Year’ for South Asia multiple times by Campaign Magazine and was named ‘Asia-Pacific Creative Leader of the Year’ in 2023.
Josy and his team won the inaugural Glass Lion Grand Prix at Cannes in 2015 for P&G Whisper’s ‘Touch The Pickle’ and earned multiple Cannes Lions for P&G Ariel’s ‘Share The Load,’ ranked the world’s most effective campaign by WARC. In 2024, the ‘Silent Separation’ campaign won the White Pencil at D&AD Awards.
Before BBDO, Josy launched Ogilvy's challenger agency, ‘David,’ in India in 2000.
