Biography

Kyle Chayka is a staff writer for The New Yorker, writing a weekly column covering technology and culture on the Internet. Chayka is the author of 'Filterworld: How Algorithms Flattened Culture', which was published in January 2024. He is also the author of 'The Longing for Less: Living with Minimalism'. He co-founded the culture newsletter 'Dirt' as well as the journalist community 'Study Hall'. He has also contributed to publications including The New York Times Magazine, Bloomberg, and The Verge. His current project, One Thing, is a newsletter on authenticity and personal taste.
