Biography
Lisa McKnight is Mattel’s Executive VP and Chief Brand Officer, overseeing iconic brands such as Barbie, Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price and American Girl.
Joining Mattel in 1998, she has held several senior roles, including Global Head of Barbie since 2016, where she spearheaded its transformation into the #1 Global Toy Property (2020–2021) and Global Doll Property (2020–2022).
Under her leadership, Barbie sales nearly doubled, achieving the brand’s highest growth in over two decades by 2021.
Ms McKnight led the award-winning marketing campaign for the record-breaking Barbie movie, driving US$1.44 billion in global box office sales. She also launched the Barbie Dream Gap Project in 2018, impacting 25 million girls, and expanded Mattel’s portfolio by reclaiming Disney Princess, Frozen and other major franchises.
Before Mattel, Ms McKnight worked in agency advertising with Taco Bell and Fairmont Hotels and held marketing roles at Gap, Inc. prior to joining the toy industry.
