Biography
Mark Penn is Chairman and CEO of Stagwell Inc., a NASDAQ-listed company, with over 12,000 employees and $2 billion of annual revenue. His career spans 40 years in research, advertising, PR, polling, and consulting.
Penn spearheaded the combination of digital-services leader The Stagwell Group, and global creative network MDC Partners creating Stagwell Inc, the challenger network built to transform marketing. Prior to Stagwell, Penn served as Microsoft’s Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer, managing a $2 billion ad budget and later overall strategy.
Penn was the Co-Founder and CEO of Penn Schoen Berland -- a high-tech market research powerhouse that he built and sold to WPP.
For six years, Penn served as White House Pollster to President Bill Clinton and was chief strategist of his 1996 re-election campaign. He developed the concept behind "Soccer Moms" and is credited with several unique ad and polling methods, including overnight polling.
