The Oneliness Project

Biography

Monika Jiang is a Chinese-German-Jewish writer and community builder with The Oneliness Project. Her starting provocation: loneliness is not the crisis. The fear of it is. Through essays, speaking, and collaborations with global brands and organizations, she traces loneliness as a personal and structural condition — through economics and the commodification of care, through artificial intimacy, through politics and the erosion of civic life, through spirituality and what we've lost by outsourcing connection to platforms and products. Oneliness offers a framework for reimagining life based on interdependence, care, and relationality. Her first book is in progress. She also hosts Shared Table Dinners: intimate gatherings for the questions of our times — personal, political, and relational all at once. Previously, she helped grow the global community of 50,000 members at House of Beautiful Business as Head of Curation and Community.
