Biography
Nikki Haley was elected the 116th governor of South Carolina in 2010, becoming the youngest governor in the United States at the time and the first minority woman governor in America. Under her leadership, South Carolina achieved a 15-year low in unemployment and attracted over $20bn in capital investment. In 2016, she was appointed US Ambassador to the United Nations, where she served on the National Security Council and the President’s Cabinet, focusing on defending US interests and promoting human rights. She has been recognised by Time and Forbes among the most influential and powerful women globally. Following her public service, she founded Stand For America and remains active in policy and public affairs. She currently serves as the Walter P. Stern Chair at the Hudson Institute and Vice Chair of Edelman Public and Government Affairs. She is also a best-selling author, military spouse and mother of two.
