Biography
Oriol Tarragó is an award winning Barcelona-based sound designer, specialising in film and is a distinguished member of AMPAS (The Academy). He has worked alongside Guillermo del Toro on The Devil’s Backbone (2001), and with fellow ESCAC graduate Juan Antonio Bayona on his first short films.
Oriol's accolades include his work on Society of the Snow (2024), The Impossible (2012), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and The Orphanage (2007), which have won multiple awards across The European Film Awards, The Golden Reel Award at MPSE and Premios Goya.
Throughout his career, he has experimented with sound and explored how the medium can transport us to other worlds and studied how vital it is in communicating a story.
Now, alongside his work, Oriol combines his knowledge in sound post-production at his own studio Coser y Cantar, with his teaching at ESCAC and other University of Barcelona programmes.
