Prasoon’s first film ever as a Director went on to win the Best Debut Director, Best Director, Best Script, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Design and The Best Film at the Indian Academy of Advertising film Art Awards. What followed thereafter has been a most prolific career in film-making and perhaps an even more stunning collection of awards: Multiple Cannes Lions, Clios, New York festivals, Asia Pacific Adfest Awards and tons of Abby Awards including the ‘The Best Indian Commercial of the Century’. The Gunn report ranked him among the Top 25 advertising film directors in the world. Prasoon’s bemused response to this - ‘This shows improvement. In high school, I never made it to the Top 25 in my class of 26’.

Through his work over the last 30 years, Prasoon has introduced a new grammar to film - making in India: one that is unabashedly Indian and proud of its roots.

In recognition of the unparalleled body of work done along with his brother Piyush Pandey, The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity honored them both with The Lion of St Mark, as a lifetime achievement award in 2018. They are the first Asians and only the seventh in the world to receive it.
