Salome Asatiani is a journalist and public intellectual, working for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Georgian Service. She is based in Prague.

For the last five years, Salome has been hosting and producing a popular podcast series, Asatiani’s Corner, dedicated to literature, film, music, cultural studies, psychoanalysis, feminist philosophy and the history of ideas.

Previously, she hosted a hard-talk-style political TV show, interviewing major political figures and decision-makers in Georgia.

Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, Salome has an MPhil in Gender Studies from the Central European University, a master’s degree in Media Studies from Sussex University and a bachelor’s degree in Film Studies from Tbilisi State University.

Prior to becoming a journalist, Salome lectured at Tbilisi State University and worked as a DJ at a local rock radio station.
