Biography
Seiya Matsumiya is the co-founder and CEO of Black Cat White Cat Music. His musical journey began in Southern California’s vibrant scene in the early 2000s. After studying at Berklee College of Music, he returned to Los Angeles to perform with artists like Flea, Cat Power, and Maroon 5, while also creating music for film, TV, and advertising.
In 2018, Seiya founded Black Cat White Cat Music in Tokyo, where his creative vision has shaped music for global advertising campaigns. His work has earned accolades and invitations to juries at Cannes Lions, CICLOPE Berlin, and the Clio Awards. Expanding further, the company has contributed to projects like the A24 film After Yang (2022) and Netflix’s Beyond Goodbye, which held the #1 spot in Japan for weeks.
When not in Tokyo, Seiya enjoys the coastal charm of Kobe with his family.
