Biography
Sir John Hegarty has made an indelible mark on business and culture.
In 1970 Hegarty helped form Saatchi and Saatchi as a founding partner. From there, he co-founded the London office of TBWA, and in 1982 assembled Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH). It's at BBH where Hegarty made his most recognisable work. The agency transformed the fortunes of each client it engaged with. It made black denim culturally relevant for Levi’s. It created a luxury ice cream market with Häagen-Dazs. It introduced the world to 'The Lynx Effect.'
Hegarty’s most important mission lays ahead. He believes there is a fundamental mistake in how we teach and think about creativity. His new venture, The Garage Entertainment looks to change this. He's launched an online course, called The Business of Creativity, alongside a number of new initiatives launching in the coming year. The objective is an all-pervading unlock for creativity.
