Biography
Susie Wolff MBE is the Managing Director of F1 Academy and a pioneering figure in global motorsport. Born in Scotland in the UK, she rose rapidly through karting before moving into professional racing, competing in Formula Renault, Formula 3, and ultimately the DTM with Mercedes-Benz. In 2012, she joined Williams Racing and made history at the 2014 British Grand Prix as the first woman in 22 years to take part in a Formula 1 race weekend. Her racing career established her reputation for determination, leadership and breaking barriers at the highest level.
After retiring from driving, Susie transitioned into team leadership as Team Principal and later CEO of Venturi Racing in Formula E, guiding the team to its most competitive season and a Vice World Championship finish. She has long championed women’s participation in motorsport, founding the ‘Dare to Be Different’ initiative and receiving an MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for her contributions. In 2023, she became Managing Director of F1 Academy, where she is focused on building a system for female talent to thrive and redefining opportunity across the sport. Her memoir, Driven, became an instant Sunday Times Bestseller, offering an honest account of her journey through a male-dominated industry.
