Tongyu Liu is a psychologist and PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh specializing in esports psychology. Profiled by leading Chinese media as China’s first full-time esports psychologist, she has played a key role in advancing the professionalization of psychological practice within the esports industry.

With over six years of applied experience in professional esports from 2020 to 2025, Tongyu has designed and delivered structured psychology training programs for athletes and executives across leading organizations, including LGD Gaming. She has developed and taught esports psychology courses for professional teams within the Honor of Kings International League. Tongyu holds a MSc from University of Edinburgh and a BSc from Beijing Sport University.
