"There's something powerful about networking across vs networking up."

The LIONS Academies are an opportunity of a lifetime for a young professional. The experience opened my eyes to the media world beyond my perspective and pushed me to think a lot more creatively about the role of media and the importance of its placements. Equally as important, the Academies provided me with an opportunity to network with not only C-Suite level leadership at some of the most creative companies in the world, but it also gave me an unprecedented experience to break bread (and sip rose ;)) with lateral industry peers from around the globe.

Lorenz Langgartner

Executive Creative Director, Serviceplan Group 11 Gold Lion, 7 Silver Lion, 11 Bronze Lion, 62 Shortlisted

Lorenz has created work for the likes of Sky Live Sports, Les Paul Skill Check and various projects for Dot Inc. He has won 29 Cannes Lions.

"For me, it was the most influential experience of my career".

When I attended the Academy in 2012, one of my personal highlights was the session with Bob Greenberg. Around that time, R/GA was moving into product development and acting as an accelerator. This was a big inspiration for what we’re doing at Serviceplan IO today, where we also work with startups in exchange for equity, starting with the first braille smartwatch Dot Watch, which subsequently won a Cannes Gold Lion in Innovation in 2015. The story continues, as we just released our latest product Dot Go, an innovative assistive app for the visually impaired.

Christina Miller

"LIONS Academy gave me a whole new perspective on the industry..."

The Academy gave me incredible access to some of the most inspiring minds in the industry, every day we had an agenda full of speakers who shared their experience and insight into what makes great work, what trends were driving the industry forward and how to be successful in our careers. I remember coming back home to Kansas feeling so inspired and excited by the opportunities uncovered through the Academy.

The connections I made through my time in the Academy are invaluable, and although it’s been four years since I was a Young Lion, I still keep connected today to many of the people I came to know in our time together in Cannes.

Without LIONS Academy I would not have met & had the opportunity to work with and learn from so many people from around the world at such a young age.
