Biography
Hugo Veiga, a blend of Portuguese and Brazilian souls, is obsessed with expanding creative frontiers. His career began in entertainment—as a screenwriter, actor in Portuguese TV comedies, cartoon voice actor, and champion of improv competitions.
He later co-founded AKQA São Paulo, a studio that has produced groundbreaking work for brands and artists like Usher, Elton John, and Lady Gaga. Under his leadership, the studio earned major accolades: WPP’s Happiest Office in the World (2018), Cannes Lions Latin America Agency of the Year (2019), and Brazilian Agency of the Year (2023).
Hugo has collected four Cannes Lions Grand Prix, including the Titanium for Dove Real Beauty Sketches, along with industry honors from Fast Company, Time magazine, and the UNICEF Human Rights Seal.
Committed to social and environmental impact, Hugo supports initiatives like Soma+, guiding over 3,000 students who lack access to university education, and serves on the advisory board of Zero Emissions World.
Despite his lousy voice, in 2020 he debuted as a musical artist under the alter-ego GOHU. His first single was dubbed "The Quarantine Anthem" by MTV Portugal. Now, he’s on to launch his 3rd album in 2025. Brace your ears.
