Biography

Naya Violeta, one of the most influential Black Brazilian designers today, is a driving force in reshaping Brazilian fashion. She grew up in her aunts' sewing yards, where she first learned to transform fabric into meaningful clothing. As a Black woman in fashion, her work is deeply rooted in culture, celebrating the traditions of the Cerrado region in Goiás and helping to strengthen Midwest fashion in Brazil.

A standout at SPFW (São Paulo Fashion Week), Naya was the first designer from Goiás to present a collection at the largest fashion event in Latin America—one of the top five fashion weeks in the world, alongside Paris, Milan, New York, and London.

In 2022, she was featured on the cover of Vogue Dossiê: Especial Celebra, which honored 10 designers who transformed fashion with purpose in Brazil.

In 2024, she launches Folia de Naya, a collaborative and deeply personal collection with FARM, a brand under Azzas 2154, the largest fashion group in Latin America, further cementing her role as one of the most important voices in Brazilian independent fashion today.
