Biography
Hrafn Gunnarsson began his career at an agency in 2005 after graduating from the Iceland University of the Arts. He quickly advanced to Art Director, overseeing creative work for leading brands such as VÍS (Iceland’s largest insurance company), Reykjavík City Theatre, Channel 2 (the nation’s largest TV station), the Reykjavík Arts Festival, and others. In 2012, Hrafn co-founded the creative agency Brandenburg with three partners and assumed the role of Creative Director. He has led many of the agency’s key branding projects, including the 2020 rebrand of Iceland’s national football team. Over the past thirteen years, Brandenburg has received—and been nominated for—nearly every major design and advertising award in Iceland. Hrafn’s work has earned numerous national accolades as well as international recognition, including the Clio Awards, Cannes Lions, ADC*E, and BIA. In 2021, he was named to Adweek’s Creative 100: The Most Inspiring Talents in Marketing, Media and Culture.
