Biography
Nene Parsotam is an accomplished creative leader with over two decades of experience in advertising, design, and emerging media. Beginning her career as a graphic designer in 2003, Nene has contributed her expertise to over 20 top advertising agencies, including Ogilvy, BBDO, Adam&EveDDB, DraftFCB, DigitasLBi, M&C Saatchi, and JWT Wunderman.
She later served as a Creative Director at leading companies such as Ogilvy, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount, Warner Bros, and Disney, expanding her expertise into conceptual art, 3D, gaming, animation, and AI.
A respected industry voice and career mentor, Nene has served on prestigious juries, including Cannes Lions (2019), Eurobest, Dubai Lynx, Creative Circle, and The Drum Awards. She has been a two-time Direct Jury member for D&AD Professional Awards, was Jury President for the D&AD New Blood Awards in 2018, and the Creative Director for the D&AD Shift 2024 cohort. She also served on the Industry Craft Jury at Cannes in 2019.
For eight years, Nene led VINE Creatives, an independent branding and communications agency dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs and businesses within the African diaspora. Under her leadership, the agency collaborated with brands such as Sky, LEGO, and Imperial College London, with its Black Panther-inspired campaign Hero in Us All achieving viral success.
She is a sought-after speaker, having recently spoken at the United Nations Women division on tackling stereotypes in advertising.
Passionate about nurturing the next generation of creatives, Nene is a dedicated mentor and advocate for Gen Z and Gen Alpha, equipping them with the skills and resilience needed to thrive in multiple creative industries. Her insights were published in Black and Great: A careers manifesto, alongside influential UK figures such as Trevor Nelson MBE and Sir Steve McQueen.
