Sir Demis Hassabis is an artificial intelligence researcher, entrepreneur and Nobel Laureate. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of Google DeepMind. DeepMind, one of the world’s leading AI companies, was founded in 2010 and acquired by Google in January 2014 and is now central to Google’s AI efforts. DeepMind has achieved numerous landmark AI breakthroughs, such as AlphaGo, the first program to beat the world champion at the game of Go, and AlphaFold, which solved the 50-year grand challenge of protein structure prediction and earned Demis the Nobel Prize in Chemistry by accurately predicting the 3D shape of proteins – critical for disease understanding and drug discovery.
