Biography

David Ohana is Chief Communications and Marketing Officer at the United Nations Foundation where he leads global communication and engagement. David has worked in advertising, production and social impact for over two decades, harnessing the power of some of the world’s most influential individuals and organizations to reach billions, raise millions, and help change attitudes.

Formally a creative with Saatchi & Saatchi, as Chief of Brand-Building for UNICEF, David led the global rebranding the organization. Prior, David worked as a content producer for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and headed Film and Special Projects for the UN’s humanitarian arm, producing content from North Korea to the Polar Ice Rim. He has directed path-breaking collaborations with influencers including David Guetta, Hugh Jackman and Beyoncé (their World Humanitarian Day campaign reaching over a billion people in 2012.)

As Global Head of Marketing, Brands & Campaigns for Minderoo Foundation, David wrote and produced Molly’s TED Talk on brain development, delivered by a 7-year-old, which become the most viewed TED Talk in the world in 2021.

David has received over two dozen international film and advertising awards. He was named Young Australian of the Year for Community Service and has appeared on CNN, The Today Show and China Global on the work of UNICEF and the UN.
