Biography

Kagiso Lediga is a multi-hyphenate force in African entertainment. A pioneering stand-up comedian, he created groundbreaking South African comedy shows, including the two time International Emmy nominated ‘Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola’, blending political satire with social commentary. Transitioning to film, he wrote/directed ‘Catching Feelings’ (2017), the first African Netflix Original, followed by the cult hit ‘Matwetwe’ (2018). His directorial work includes episodes of Netflix’s ‘Queen Sono’ (2020) which he also created.

In 2024, he voiced Young Rafiki in Barry Jenkins’ ‘Mufasa: The Lion King, marking his Disney debut. Through Diprente, his production company, he champions bold African storytelling. Lediga mentors emerging creatives while redefining African narratives with humor and heart.
