Biography
Sumanta is a seasoned digital transformation leader with over 20 years of experience driving growth in developing markets, spanning 12 countries across two continents. Currently based out of Nairobi, Kenya; he is the responsible for Ogilvy Africa’s strategy function in 39 countries within Sub-saharan Africa.
His career encompasses both technology and strategic planning, with a consistent focus on building scalable businesses that bridge the gap between technological innovation and human cultural context. He emphasizes the importance of linking customer experiences to tangible business outcomes.
His contributions have been recognized with awards in India, APAC, and most recently, the WARC Global Effectiveness Gold in the Cultural Impact category (2023). Sumanta is a guest faculty member at leading management institutions, including IIM, and a frequent speaker at international forums such as Ad Tech and the Asian Marketing Effectiveness Festival.
