Biography

Tara Lawall is Chief Creative Officer at Rethink New York, a two-time published author, and award winning filmmaker. Over the past 15 years, she has earned top honors at major industry shows including Cannes (Titanium Lion), One Show, Clios, and the Art Directors Club. Her work is part of MoMA’s permanent Advertising and Editorial Art collection. Tara has been named to One Club’s Next Creative Leaders, Pitch 100’s Superwomen, and Campaign US’s 2025 list of Inspiring Women. Beyond advertising, her editorial writing appears in Scary Mommy, Motherly, and Parent.co, and she performs in storytelling shows around NYC. Her debut book, This Little Piggy Went to Market in the City (2021), is a children’s parody co-created with Rich Greco. Her second book, There Are Too Many Milks (2023), co-written with Anne Marie Wonder, is an adult humor title. Her first short film, Retirement Plan, co-written and directed by John Kelly, premiered internationally at SXSW in March 2025, winning both the Animated Short Grand Jury Award and Audience Award. Tara lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Jeremy, and their two children, Cora and Rhett.
