Biography

Tom Murphy is North American Chief Creative Officer at VML. He is a devout believer in the power of creativity.

At VML, Tom oversees work for brands ranging from Hellmann’s to Mazda to the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, and sits on the agency’s Global Creative Board. Prior to joining VML, he spent 16 years at McCann where he was CCO of the New York office and played a key role in the agency’s creative resurgence. While there, he worked on culture-impacting ideas like Fearless Girl for State Street Global Advisors, True Name for Mastercard, and Universal Love Songs for MGM Resorts. His work has been recognized at Cannes, D&AD, The One Show and Effies, among others. He has previously served at Cannes on the Brand Experience and Activation Jury.

When not working in advertising, Tom enjoys museum-hopping with his family and posting artsy photos on Instagram.
