Darren McKoy – known to all at Dr. Martens as ‘D-Mac’ - now serves as DM’s Global Creative Director, having been part of our leadership for the design and product teams at DM’s for over 7 years now.

Hailing from his heart-town and homeland of Sheffield, Darren converted a youthful love of sport - which sparked an early obsession with the form and fit of football boots - into a career dedicated to functional footwear, which spans over 20 years.

McKoy held roles at several large British retailers soon followed before two transformative Product positions at Adidas (Originals) and The North Face (Off-Mountain) both added new layers to DMac’s personal design codes and inspirations - via exploring, reworking and redefining iconic archival pieces. Always pushing forward but reinvigorating with an ethos built around respect for what has come before.
