Lydia Winters, Mojang Studios’ Chief Storyteller, moved from Florida to Stockholm in 2011, solely to work on Minecraft. Despite lacking formal industry training, her passion for the game has propelled her through the company ranks. As the 7th employee, first woman, and expat, her contributions have been pivotal to Minecraft’s success. Lydia champions inclusivity at Mojang, promoting equity through the game. Her role, tailored to her unique skills, involves sharing Minecraft's impact worldwide. She advocates for using Minecraft to create a better world and remains inspired by its possibilities after 13 years. Beyond her work, Lydia is a forest dweller, former teacher, watch collector, ex-Minecraft YouTuber and was named a Hasselblad Heroine for her photography.
