Alistair Thompson is Executive Creative Director and Partner at Demner, Merlicek & Bergmann, the independent agency that swept every Austrian creative ranking in 2024 and 2025.

He started out as a copywriter – which means he truly believes that the right words can change everything.

As a former professional pole vaulter, he loves raising the bar with every new challenge – and after 20+ years as a sponsored skateboarder, he knows that sometimes you have to risk the fall.

That mindset has led him to wins at Cannes Lions, The One Show, Clio, D&AD, ADC New York, Eurobest, ADC Europe and the CCA.

He has served as a jury member at Cannes, Eurobest, ADC Europe, ADC New York and numerous other festivals.

His greatest inspiration is his daughter, who proves to him every day that creativity accepts no boundaries.
