Biography
Atta Hemwadee began his directing journey after graduating with a degree in Communication Design from the Faculty of Architecture at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. He quickly established himself by directing a wide array of short films, commercials, and popular music videos, including hits like Palmy's 'Duang Jai," STAMP's '1%,' Whal & Dolph's 'Skyfall." and INK WARUNTHORN's 'Erase.' This diverse experience laid the foundation for his venture into feature filmmaking.
His debut feature film, "Not Friends," produced by GDH 559, marked a significant step in his career. The film achieved international recognition with official selections at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2024, Osaka Asian Film Festival 2024, and New York Asian Film Festival 2024. Domestically, "Not Friends" was lauded with the Best Screenplay award at the 13th Thai Film Directors Association Awards, alongside Best Supporting Actor and Best Film Editing wins at the 32nd Thailand National Film Association Awards, solidifying Atta Hemwadee's position as a promising voice in Thai cinema. In 2026, Atta had the new film "GOHAN" with GDH559 currently showing in Thailand.
In the advertising field, Atta worked on "UNFADING LOVE" for the THAI LIFE INSURANCE brand with the agency OGILVY, Bangkok, which won the Silver Spike award in the Entertainment category at Spikes Asia 2026.
