Tjer started his advertising career in 2005 as a Copywriter who was very sure that he wouldn’t last more than 12 months in the industry.

Today, now finds himself driving the creative vision of Malaysia’s #1 independent agency – The Shout Group. Since his arrival in 2018, he has helped the agency clinch 10 Agency of the Year titles and over 600 awards locally, regionally and internationally. His leadership was instrumental in securing the agency’s historic Gold win at the YouTube Southeast Asia Awards in 2024, marking the first-ever Gold awarded to a Malaysian agency.

Over the years, he has served as a jury member for ADFEST, Dragons of Asia and numerous other shows. He also once served as a member of the Creative Council of Malaysia's advertising association.

20 years on, not only is he glad that he has proven himself wrong, these days, he spends his free time trying to coax his young daughter into following his footsteps.
