Biography
Jessica Apellániz is Wieden+Kennedy Mexico's inaugural creative leader after the agency opened its doors in Mexico City in January 2023. As CCO, she plays a pivotal role in shaping all the creative work produced by the agency for major brands such as Ford, Nike, Aeromexico, Uber, and AB InBev, among others.
Jessica joined W+K after a successful run as Chief Creative Officer for Latin America at Ogilvy, where she created standout work for Coca-Cola, BP, Mazda, Aeromexico, KFC, Starbucks, and American Express. She led multidisciplinary teams, earning recognition at top award shows like Cannes Lions, D&AD, and the One Show. During her time at the agency, Ogilvy Latin America won its first D&AD Pencil for Mexico, its first Cannes Lions for Honduras and Bolivia, and was named Cannes Lions' Regional Network of the Year in 2022.
Before she picked up copywriting, Jessica started her career as a producer, working for world-class companies, including MTV LATAM. As one of the very few women in a creative leading role across LATAM and a mother of two small children at home, Jessica is deeply committed to creating a more diverse and gender-balanced industry in the region and across the world.
