After getting his start in copywriting and publishing, Max made the jump to public relations at Mango, the communications arm of New Zealand’s then-leading advertising group, DDB.

That period saw him work across a variety of high-profile clients in a range of sectors including Financial Services, Telco, FMCG, Property, Travel and Tech. He’s contributed to campaigns that have been highly awarded locally and internationally, and led the PR for several Cannes Lion-winning campaigns.

More recently, Max joined independent New Zealand PR agency One Plus One Communications, becoming a partner in 2023. In that time, the agency has more than doubled in size and been recognised as New Zealand’s large PR agency of the year for the past two years running as well as Campaign Asia’s boutique PR agency of the year.
