Biography
Sonia Huria is a seasoned corporate communications leader with over two decades of experience across the entertainment and consumer landscape. She has successfully shaped communication and marketing strategies for some of India’s most influential media brands, driving both business impact and cultural resonance.
In her current mandate at Maddock Films, Sonia leads Brand Communications, PR, and Social Media, spearheading integrated marketing and communication strategies for the studio’s diverse slate. She led the campaign for the blockbuster Hindi film Chhhava — the biggest Hindi film of 2025 — and drove impactful campaigns for Bhool Chuk Maaf, Param Sundari, and the horror-comedy franchise Thamma, reinforcing Maddock’s position as one of India’s most innovative and conversation-driving film studios.
Previously, as Head – Communications, Asia Pacific, Prime Video, Sonia was responsible for driving the PR narrative for the streaming service across the APAC region, while leading brand reputation and communication strategy across media platforms. Since joining Prime Video in 2018 as Head – Communications, India, she has played a pivotal role in positioning it as India’s most loved entertainment destination.
Earlier, Sonia led Brand and Corporate Communications for Viacom18, overseeing five business lines — broadcast, digital, movies, merchandise, and live events — in addition to internal communications and corporate social responsibility. She began her career with Weber Shandwick and Genesis Burson Marsteller, two of India’s most reputed public relations agencies, where she honed her expertise in strategic communication and brand storytelling.
Building brand narratives, driving internal alignment across diverse teams, and crafting humane stories for organizations are the challenges that continue to inspire Sonia’s work. An industry thought leader, she serves on the Managing Committee of The Advertising Club and has been featured in Impact Magazine’s Top 50 Women Leaders in Advertising, Media & Marketing for six consecutive years.
